The Great Canadian Homestead Series

The Great Canadian
Homestead Series.

Grow food. Care for animals. Understand the systems that support both.

Developed manuscripts · Publication preparation · Not yet for sale through this website

Begin with the part of life you want to understand.

A few containers, a backyard garden, a small farm or a property you are still learning to read. Your beginning can be modest.

The Great Canadian Homestead Series connects growing food, caring for animals and running the services that support a home. Each book stands on its own. Together, they help you see how a decision in one part of the homestead reaches the others.

For beginners, the aim is to explain the steps that experienced people may overlook. For readers already doing the work, chapter routes, records and worked examples provide ways to organise observations and prepare better questions.

Three companion books.
One connected way of learning.

The Great Canadian Off-Grid Bible

Understand the systems that carry the household.

Buildings, energy, water, heating and sanitation, connected through practical service planning. Workshop practice, measurement, maintenance, repair, worked calculations, outage preparation and communications help readers follow the relationships between systems.

Follow the relationships.

Growing needs dependable services.

The Garden volume helps you plan crops, soil and irrigation. Off-Grid follows water supply, storage, power and the maintenance that keeps those services useful through a difficult season.

Animal care continues every day.

Livestock connects species care with feed, shelter and routines. Off-Grid helps you think through water, ventilation, backup service and the people who need to operate them when you are away.

The harvest needs somewhere to go.

Garden follows food into storage and the pantry. The wider series connects production with household capacity, ordinary work, records and practical limits.

Start where it fits.

You do not need livestock or an isolated property to begin. Choose the volume that matches your space, responsibilities and next decision, then follow the connections when they become useful.

From developed manuscripts
to published references.

All three have substantial reader manuscripts revised 19 October 2026. Independent subject review, editing, final production checks and physical print proofs remain part of the publication work. These are development editions, not independently validated retail manuals or approved construction plans.

Downloadable PDF and hardcover editions are planned, with individual-book and complete-set choices. The campaign direction is the complete three-book series. Final reward descriptions, pricing, shipping, launch timing and delivery estimates remain to be confirmed publicly.

A verified public Kickstarter destination is not currently available here. This website does not collect pledges, book orders or preorders. You can send Tyler a publication-interest inquiry using the existing contact form. Sending a question does not automatically subscribe you to marketing emails.

Knowledge worth passing along.

For Tyler, these ideas began with Phyllis and Bob. A grandmother preserving food. A grandfather who could find a useful future in an old window or a broken object, then quietly put it there.

Farm work, construction, kitchens and hospitality, electrical engineering technology, web development and entrepreneurship added to that foundation. The series carries those roots into PermOasis: useful knowledge, thoughtful stewardship and people learning to provide more for themselves and one another.

“A beginner can be stopped by one missing piece of information that an experienced person barely notices anymore.”

A few useful answers.

Can I choose just one book?

Individual PDF and hardcover-plus-PDF options are planned alongside complete-set choices. The final campaign will establish what is offered before pledging opens.

Are these final retail editions?

No. Developed manuscripts exist for all three books. Independent specialist review and publication preparation remain. Page totals and illustrations in the manuscripts do not establish final printing specifications.

How has AI been used?

Tyler supplies the concepts, personal experience, direction and revision instructions. Generative AI has drafted substantial portions of the manuscripts and assisted with research, organisation and editing. AI assistance does not establish accuracy or replace independent subject review. Photographs and adapted material retain their own credits and usage terms.

Do book options include a founding homestead?

Book publication is separate from the founding-household opportunity. Book options do not include land, company equity, accommodation or an investment return.

What can I use today?

The existing field-guide shop and free guide sample remain available. Their current availability is separate from the forthcoming series.
