How artificial intelligence is used in the research, planning, communication, and development of PermOasis Retreat.

I use artificial intelligence.

I use it deliberately, and sometimes extensively, because PermOasis Retreat brings together an unusually wide range of connected subjects: land development, construction, regenerative systems, hospitality, community structure, business planning, wellness, food production, energy, commerce, law, finance, and long-term operations.

Pretending that I do not use AI would be less honest than explaining exactly how I use it.

AI helps me research questions, organize complex information, compare possibilities, identify gaps, test assumptions, develop models, refine language, and keep hundreds of interconnected decisions from drifting apart.

It does not replace my ideas.

It does not decide what PermOasis Retreat should become.

It does not carry authority, make commitments, certify facts, or assume responsibility for the result.

I do.

Where the Ideas Come From

PermOasis Retreat was not generated from a prompt.

Its direction has grown from my own experience, questions, skills, losses, observations, plans, and belief that land, livelihood, wellness, community, and long-term resilience can be designed as parts of one working system.

The ideas behind the project come from years spent thinking across construction, technology, business systems, food, hospitality, holistic wellness, and the practical realities of bringing complicated work into physical form.

What appears as a finished AI-assisted page, plan, model, or explanation is the culmination of my own ideas being researched, challenged, organized, tested, connected, and refined.

I establish the purpose.

I provide the underlying concepts, history, constraints, priorities, and intended outcome.

AI helps me work through the volume and complexity.

I decide what survives that process.

AI may occasionally identify a possibility I had not considered. That possibility does not automatically become part of PermOasis Retreat. It remains a suggestion until I investigate it, compare it with the project’s principles, understand its consequences, and deliberately accept, revise, or reject it.

The vision remains human.

The judgment remains human.

The responsibility remains mine.

Why This Standard Exists

AI can be extraordinarily useful.

It can also be confidently wrong.

It can misread a source, overlook a local requirement, repeat outdated information, invent a connection, flatten an important distinction, or produce language that sounds far more certain than the evidence allows.

Polish is not proof.

A well-written paragraph can still contain a bad assumption. A detailed calculation can still begin with the wrong number. A convincing answer can still misunderstand the question.

That is why AI output is never treated as self-verifying.

Nothing should move directly from prompt to promise.

How I Use AI

AI may support PermOasis Retreat in the following areas:

  • Research preparation

    • AI can help identify the laws, regulations, technologies, industries, professional disciplines, and source materials that may be relevant to a question.

    • This accelerates the beginning of the research. It does not replace examining the underlying source.

  • Information organization

    • PermOasis Retreat contains many systems that affect one another. A change to the market may affect infrastructure, founder opportunities, guest experiences, cash flow, construction order, or future food operations.

    • AI helps gather those relationships into a form that can be examined as one system instead of a pile of isolated ideas.

  • Scenario modelling

    • AI may help compare costs, timelines, energy requirements, revenue possibilities, development phases, operating assumptions, and alternative approaches.

    • These models are tools for asking better questions. They are not guarantees, appraisals, engineering certifications, or promises of future performance.

  • Drafting and editing

    • AI may help turn detailed working notes into clear website copy, planning documents, explanations, correspondence, diagrams, or presentation materials.

    • The final message must still accurately represent my meaning. I review, correct, reshape, and approve it before it is used.

  • Consistency checking

    • AI can compare pages and documents to help identify contradictions, outdated statements, missing disclosures, or places where one decision has not yet been reflected elsewhere.

    • This is especially valuable in a project where legal structure, development phases, financial assumptions, and property-specific details will continue evolving.

  • Critical review

    • I use AI to challenge ideas, look for overlooked risks, test an argument from another perspective, and generate questions that a founder, lawyer, engineer, planner, lender, regulator, guest, or skeptical reader might reasonably ask.

    • Agreement is not the objective. Better thinking is.

  • Concept development and visualization

    • AI may help illustrate possible buildings, landscapes, systems, experiences, or spatial relationships before final land, design, and construction decisions exist.

    • These images help people understand a direction. They do not prove that something has been built, approved, engineered, purchased, or finalized.

What AI Is Never Permitted to Replace

AI is not treated as a substitute for:

  • Legal advice or final legal drafting.

  • Accounting, tax, securities, or investment advice.

  • Engineering, architectural, surveying, or environmental certification.

  • Municipal, provincial, or federal approval.

  • Medical, therapeutic, or other regulated professional judgment.

  • Property inspection, title review, appraisal, or physical due diligence.

  • Direct conversations with founding households and affected people.

  • Informed consent.

  • Ethical judgment.

  • Human accountability.

AI may help prepare questions for a professional. It cannot become the professional.

When a decision requires licensed expertise, formal approval, physical inspection, or legal authority, the appropriate qualified person or governing body must carry out that work.

The Verification Standard

Material factual claims intended for public or consequential use are reviewed before publication or reliance. The depth of that review rises with the possible consequences of being wrong.

A minor wording choice and a claim about land ownership do not carry the same risk. A conceptual garden idea and an electrical design do not require the same level of review. A preliminary estimate and a binding financial term cannot be treated as equals.

The following standards guide that review:

  • AI is not considered a source

    • An AI answer may identify where to look, but it is not accepted as evidence merely because it sounds credible.

    • Material claims should be traced to legislation, regulations, government guidance, technical documentation, professional advice, original records, credible research, or another appropriate source.

  • Primary and authoritative sources come first

    • Whenever reasonably possible, information is checked against the body responsible for creating, administering, regulating, or documenting it.

    • That may include government departments, municipalities, manufacturers, professional associations, utilities, technical standards, legislation, land records, or qualified advisors.

  • Dates and jurisdictions matter

    • A correct rule from another province may be useless in New Brunswick.

    • An accurate incentive from three years ago may no longer exist.

    • A technically valid approach may still be prohibited by local zoning or require approval.

    • Time-sensitive information is checked for currency, and jurisdiction-specific information is checked for local relevance.

  • Important claims are cross-checked

    • Where the stakes justify it, a claim is compared against more than one reliable source or reviewed by someone qualified to evaluate it.

    • Conflicting information is not quietly averaged into a convenient answer. The conflict must be understood or clearly disclosed.

  • Numbers must be reproducible

    • Financial projections, construction allowances, energy estimates, operating costs, production forecasts, and development timelines should identify their major assumptions.

    • Calculations are checked independently where practical.

    • If changing one assumption materially changes the result, that sensitivity should be understood and communicated.

Facts, estimates, intentions, and possibilities remain distinct

PermOasis Retreat materials should make it clear whether something is:

  • Confirmed.

  • Currently intended.

  • Estimated.

  • Under investigation.

  • Property-dependent.

  • Subject to professional review.

  • Subject to regulatory approval.

  • Conceptual.

  • A long-term possibility.

A possibility should never be written as though it already exists.

Unverified information is labelled or removed

If reliable confirmation cannot yet be obtained, the information should be identified as preliminary or omitted until it can be supported.

Uncertainty is not a weakness that needs to be disguised.

It is information people need in order to make responsible decisions.

Professional Review and Binding Decisions

PermOasis Retreat is still in the founding and property-search stage. Some details cannot be finalized until the land is selected, investigated, surveyed, and evaluated against applicable rules.

AI may help explore the questions, but the final answers must come from the appropriate sources.

Depending on the subject, that may include:

  • New Brunswick legal counsel.

  • Accountants and tax professionals.

  • Surveyors.

  • Engineers.

  • Architects or qualified building designers.

  • Municipal and provincial planning authorities.

  • Environmental specialists.

  • Water, wastewater, energy, and mechanical professionals.

  • Insurers and lenders.

  • Qualified trades.

  • Licensed or appropriately credentialed wellness professionals.

Website language, planning models, and preliminary explanations do not override final legal agreements, approved plans, professional reports, permits, surveys, or regulatory decisions.

Financial Models, Timelines, and Projections

AI can help calculate scenarios quickly. That speed makes it useful, but it does not turn a forecast into a fact.

Any estimate involving property costs, construction, revenue, founder income, equity value, energy production, operating expenses, market activity, guest demand, timelines, or future development remains dependent on assumptions.

Those assumptions may change because of:

  • The final property.

  • Legal and surveying requirements.

  • Construction conditions.

  • Labour and material costs.

  • Interest rates and financing.

  • Permits and approvals.

  • Insurance.

  • Market demand.

  • Weather.

  • household participation.

  • Professional recommendations.

  • The sequence in which the project develops.

Projections are used to test feasibility and compare decisions. They are not guarantees of income, value, completion dates, or investment performance.

Before any obligation becomes binding, the governing legal and financial documents must define the actual terms.

Conceptual Images and Plans

Some images used by PermOasis Retreat may be created or enhanced with artificial intelligence.

When an image could reasonably be mistaken for an existing property, completed structure, approved design, or finalized plan, it should be identified as a conceptual visualization.

A conceptual image represents atmosphere, function, relationships, or design direction. It does not represent:

  • A property already owned by PermOasis Retreat.

  • Construction already completed.

  • A final site plan.

  • An approved building design.

  • An engineering drawing.

  • A surveyed boundary.

  • A guaranteed future amenity.

  • A precise construction cost.

  • A promise that the finished result will look identical.

The land must be allowed to influence the design. Final buildings, roads, water systems, landscapes, and amenities will respond to the actual property, budget, regulations, engineering, ecology, and needs of the people involved.

AI-assisted diagrams may explain how a system could function. They are explanatory tools, not construction documents.

Privacy and Confidential Information

Using AI responsibly also means deciding what information should never be casually placed into an AI system.

I do not treat an AI platform as a private notebook by default.

Personal, financial, medical, legal, application, identity, and commercially sensitive information should be minimized, redacted, anonymized, or withheld wherever practical.

The standard is to use only the information reasonably necessary for the task.

Private information does not become public merely because it was included in an AI-assisted workspace. Anything intended for publication must receive a separate human review for privacy, relevance, consent, and possible harm.

Passwords, banking credentials, identity documents, confidential legal advice, and similarly sensitive records should not be knowingly entered into general-purpose AI tools.

When other people’s stories, applications, businesses, or circumstances are involved, their dignity and reasonable expectation of privacy take priority over convenience.

Originality, Attribution, and Intellectual Property

AI should help develop and communicate PermOasis Retreat’s own work. It should not be used as a shortcut for taking someone else’s.

That means:

  • Sources are used for research, not for disguising copied language.

  • Direct quotations require appropriate attribution.

  • Licensed, original, or appropriately permitted visual materials are used.

  • AI is not asked to impersonate a living creator for publication.

  • Protected work is not knowingly presented as original PermOasis material.

  • AI-assisted writing is reviewed and rewritten until it accurately reflects the project’s own substance and voice.

  • Professional credentials or expertise are never implied merely because AI produced professional-sounding language.

The objective is clarity and capability, not imitation.

Human Approval Is Required

AI does not independently publish website content, make an offer, approve an applicant, commit company funds, enter an agreement, select a property, appoint a professional, or make a final development decision.

A human being must review and authorize consequential actions.

For the current project, that responsibility ultimately rests with me unless authority has been formally assigned to another qualified person.

I cannot outsource accountability to software.

If something is published under the PermOasis Retreat name, I am responsible for having approved it.

Errors, Corrections, and Changing Information

AI can be wrong.

Professionals can disagree.

Sources can become outdated.

I can make mistakes.

No honest verification standard can promise that an error will never occur. What it can promise is that accuracy will be taken seriously and that errors will not be defended simply because correcting them is inconvenient.

When a credible concern is raised, the information should be re-examined.

If something is wrong, it should be corrected.

If the correction changes a material conclusion, the connected pages, documents, assumptions, or decisions should also be reviewed.

If something was stated too confidently, the language should be brought back into alignment with what is actually known.

Verification is not a stamp applied once.

It is an ongoing responsibility.

The Clearest Answers

Did AI invent PermOasis Retreat?

No.

PermOasis Retreat is the product of my own experience, ideas, research, planning, values, and long-term direction. AI helps me investigate and organize the work required to express and develop that vision.

Does AI write material for the website?

It assists with portions of the research, organization, drafting, editing, analysis, and consistency review.

I provide the substance and direction, evaluate the result, make the decisions, and approve what is published.

Is every AI-assisted sentence individually labelled?

No.

Routine assistance with drafting or editing does not receive a sentence-by-sentence label. This page provides the general disclosure.

Specific labelling is used when AI involvement could materially change how something is interpreted, especially with conceptual imagery, simulated scenarios, projections, or synthetic representations.

Does AI make legal, financial, construction, or engineering decisions?

No.

It may help identify questions or compare preliminary options. Binding and regulated matters require the appropriate records, authorities, agreements, and qualified professionals.

Can readers ask to see the basis for a claim?

Yes.

Some internal information may need to remain private, but reasonable questions about public claims, assumptions, sources, and project status are welcome.

Questions Strengthen Serious Work

PermOasis Retreat asks prospective founding households to investigate the project carefully.

That same standard must work in both directions.

If you find a statement that appears unsupported, outdated, contradictory, overly certain, or unclear, you are invited to question it.

Questions are not treated as hostility.

They are part of due diligence.
